Willunga National Trust has established a new Art Gallery in the heritage-listed Waverley Park Homestead in Willunga and the first two art exhibitions are up on the walls. Come in for a look and bring your family and friends!
The Jane Price Retrospective exhibition features mainly watercolor paintings of heritage buildings and cultural landscapes by local artist Jane Price (1933-2020). Jane Price was a prolific artist who painted “en plein air” (in the open air) mostly in the McLaren Vale and Willunga Districts. Her artworks were exhibited at various local venues such as Red Poles and Coriole Winery as well as at the Adelaide Show and Victor Harbor Art Show.
Our District: Willunga District’s Built Heritage Art is based on the highly successful exhibition that ran at the Onkaparinga Arts Centre in 2022. It features more than twenty never-before- exhibited artworks by past and present artists such as Chris Olsen, Anton Reibe, Donna Chess, Kenneth Jack, Lynn Chamberlain, Brien Seidel, Tracey Atkinson, Bill Walls, Nancy McWaters, John Mathieson, Peg Berry, David Newble, Roe Gartelmann and Lesley Redgate.
These exhibitions will run from the end of April 2023 for 3 months.

This plein air work was painted around the same time as her work ‘Moonrise’, and is very much a companion work, which like ‘Moonrise’ captures the mood of the scene, and the first rays of light on the landscape.
