Cressida O’Hanlon will be the next Member for Dunstan.
Cressida O’Hanlon’s victory is historic. She is the first government-backed candidate to win a seat off an Opposition in 116 years.
This win just goes to show what a strong and united team we have in the Malinauskas Labor Government. Under the stewardship of our Premier, this Government is committed to the task they were elected to do – delivering results for the people of South Australia and setting our state up for long-term success.
Unlike the Liberals who have no plans and no policies for the people of South Australia.
I want to thank all who volunteered in the Dunstan campaign. No single thing wins an election, but without (almost) every single thing we wouldn’t have won a by-election like this. We are so lucky SA Labor has great volunteers who all went above and beyond in Dunstan – at times we were overwhelmed by how many volunteers we had! Thank you to all who gave everything from handing out at pre-poll, to letterboxing and calling the voters of Dunstan to tell them why they need Cressida as their local MP.
This Easter break is a great time for us all to recoup and recover from a mighty effort in Dunstan. Take the time to enjoy your family, friends and loved ones as I know all of us here at SA Labor will be.
Stay safe over the Easter break and again, thank you,
Aemon Bourke
State Secretary, SA Labor
