Peter has identified three key issues of concern to the voters of Mawson and offers the following solutions:
Health. Stop funding the ‘provider’ of health services, and start funding the ‘user’. Health services, like most other government services are designed to benefit those who run the service, not those who use it! Needs to be the other way around.
Roads. Whether it’s taking children to school, taking farm produce to markets or long-haul interstate freight, road safety is paramount. Road safety improvement funding should reflect evenly on the per capita, per fatality, per kilometre of road to maintain ratios of every State, Territory and local government area.
Childcare. Same answer as Question 1. Switch funding to the ‘user’ – parents – and not childcare centre tycoons who are the ‘providers’. Funding parents would expand the options to include grandparents – or even a stay-at-home parent!
